I've been running Acrobat since early days, and would automatically upgrade with each new version. When Acrobat X came out, the reviews weren't all that great, so for the first time I decided to pass on the upgrade.



I am not in a large corporate environment, but still use Acrobat daily to organize information and eliminate paper. It's ability to scan documents into searchable files is vital, as well as Pro's ability to redact information from files I might take with me on a laptop or tablet, or upload to the cloud. I re-purpose documents into more flexible formats that I can load onto my tablet for travel.



Having just upgraded and started using Acrobat Pro XI in the past week, I am happy to report that in my case the upgrade was worth every penny. My productivity is up significantly and the flexibility and ability to edit on the fly gives me capability I could only wish for in V9.



Perhaps some of the features I like were also in Pro X, but in any case, if someone is considering an upgrade from V9 it's a winner.



Installation went better than I expected. The only glitch was that when I first started the install I got a message that because my laptop didn't have "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1" resident on the machine some features of Acrobat wouldn't be available. I stopped the install, googled the error message, found and downloaded the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 package, and then the install went thru fine.

I just purchased Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and I have to say it definitely was a great upgrade from my version 9. And not only that but got it at a really great rate. For those of you who are wanting to try it out there's a site that is offering a $95 deal and they give you a really excellent installation guide as I'm not much of a techie.
